Put the scanner on the turnstile and attendance stops being a separate chore. An employee scans, the tri-bar releases, and the record is written at the same instant — there is no version of getting to your desk that skips it.

Whether the relay is driven at all is a setting. Decide it before the install, not after.
The turnstile enforces it
A valid scan physically releases the tri-bar. Nobody reaches the floor without a badge that checks out, so the attendance record is as complete as the building is secure.

Attendance without a barrier
The relay is never driven — the device simply records the scan. For an open office where a turnstile would feel wrong, or where the landlord won't allow one.

What else the door can insist on
Available on the BMO TF, switched on only if you want them.
Liveness check
A blink is required, so a photograph held up to the camera doesn't open the barrier for anyone.
Thermal screening
An optional temperature reading against a warning threshold, with the choice of logging it or acting on it.
Badge validity window
On-screen badges can be set to stay valid for a limited number of seconds rather than indefinitely.
Both directions, same record
The turnstile works the same way on the way out, which is what makes the day's hours real rather than estimated. Time in, time out, and the hours between them all come from the same two scans.
